Fluorescent Light in Vacant Storefront

Join us for a soiree to celebrate Fluorescent Light in Vacant Storefront, a vibrant light installation by Montpelier-based artist Chris Jeffrey.

Location: Top of the Rotary
13 E Allen Street
Winooski, VT 05404

Overnight Projects is pleased to present Fluorescent Light in Vacant Storefront, a site-specific light installation by Montpelier-based artist Chris Jeffrey. Using colorful fluorescent light fixtures, Jeffrey has created a vibrant installation that will illuminate an empty storefront of the historic Winooski Block building for approximately four weeks.

Jeffrey utilizes fluorescent lights to construct sculptural installations and environments that explore light, color, and architecture. A stained glass artist by trade, Jeffrey uses artificial light to evoke spaces associated with the otherworldly (dreams, chapels, etc.) — to ignite otherwise dormant interiors with a lively yet mysterious quality.

Fluorescent Light in Vacant Storefront can be seen from the street February 8 - March 15, with a reception open to the public on Saturday, February 25 from 6-9pm.
