Join us for the closing of Conceal/ Reveal a collaborative, site-responsive installation by Vermont-based artists Dana Heffern and Rebecca Weisman.
The anchor for the exhibition is an architectural/sculptural element consisting of a transparent surface suspended from the ceiling with heat lamps and live “indigenous” moths and worms creating a moving tapestry or still life.
The architectural elements create a “set” for filmic experiments taking place in the space, then projected on to the walls, floor and ceiling. Each projected piece disrupts or intercepts the existing architecture to create a rupture of space in which the live insects perform. Other projected elements, such as a live feed of the viewers watching from below play with the tension between impermanence and still life.
This event is made possible with the generous support of Burlington City Arts, Dominant Saw, and Havoc Mead, who will have pints available for purchase at the reception. This event is free and open to the public.
