Join us for the opening of Conceal/Reveal, an exhibition featuring the work of Vermont-based artists Dana Heffern and Rebecca Weisman. The collaborative installation will be on view and open to the public at 339 Pine Street in Burlington, Vermont February 5, 12, and 24.
The anchor for the exhibition is an architectural/sculptural element consisting of a transparent surface suspended from the ceiling with heat lamps and live “indigenous” moths and worms creating a moving tapestry or still life.
The architectural elements create a “set” for filmic experiments taking place in the space, then projected on to the walls, floor and ceiling. Each projected piece disrupts or intercepts the existing architecture to create a rupture of space in which the live insects perform. Other projected elements, such as a live feed of the viewers watching from below play with the tension between impermanence and still life.
This event is made possible by the generous support of Burlington City Arts, ArtsRiot, and Dominant Saw. It is free and open to the public.
